In terms of budget, this stone can be considered one of the most “high-end” natural stone products for countertop applications. Due to the fact that it is extremely hard and durable, in some cases even more so than granite, fabricating it takes more time and specialized tooling. Heat-resistant and durable to scratching, quartzite (not to be confused with quartz- a man-made material), is more rare and a newcomer to the industry, unlike its other stone counterparts. Although versatile, it is not indestructible and requires sealing.
